Spirit Dungeons
Take a trip through the Spirit Dungeons, a small dungeon crawling experience for the 2nd Vaultacular GameJam!
Mix up the combat by taking over enemy creatures and fight as them for a bit. Have their comrades hurt them, clear the room of their friends, leave them in less than ideal locations when you return to your shell.
This Jam entry was a chance for me to try out a few systems that I've been working on in the background, lots of useful bug fixed and things learned. It was also a nice chance for me to try and do a lot of assets that all still fit the same style, as consistency is not always my strong suit with art.
What would I change / improve?
There was some bad time management on my part for this Jam, I got very caught up in the systems and playing around with things under the hood, so there was a lot of stuff that I'd change in hindsight.
- Have a god damn map XD, what was I thinking forgetting that.
- Difficulty needs balancing I think.
- Cracked walls to secret rooms that only certain enemies can access, to reinforce the need to possess other actors.
- Add proper music and sound effects that aren't just quickly thrown together with Bfxr.
- More attacks for actors, like a press and hold attack as well as the quick click.
- More rewarding "you've won" instead of just the fade out... bad time management at play here.
- Better font, this pixel font really doesn't work well at varying sizes so looks really low quality in a lot of cases.

It was really fun to play, though at the beginning I was a bit confused, since i started out going to the right, and thus didn't find out about the space feature until later. Because of this i ended up having to spam click fight the entire floor, just for seemingly nothing to happen.
Overall I really love the game, though in case you haven't noticed yourself:
Atleast in the right side of the map, some enemies have the tendencies to go outside the walls.
Keep up the good work!
